Essential guidelines for Demetree Global tenants to stay safe and prepared during hurricane season, covering important building procedures, emergency contacts, and helpful resources to ensure everyone is ready for any storm.

Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 each year. During this time, it’s important to stay prepared and informed. At Demetree Global, the safety of our tenants is our top priority, and we closely monitor advisories issued by governmental authorities. Should a hurricane approach, we will notify tenants via email or phone with specific instructions.

Here’s a summary of important steps to take and what you can expect from us:

Stay Informed

  • Monitor Alerts: We will keep you updated on the latest advisories and any instructions for your safety. Be sure to stay tuned to official channels for further updates.
  • Implement Emergency Procedures: We recommend that each tenant establish their own emergency protocols for hurricane preparedness. Ensure that your team knows what to do and has a plan in place.

Building Closure Procedures

In the event a Hurricane Warning is issued, we may close the building. Here's what you need to know:

  • No Building Access: Once the building is closed, entry will not be available until it is declared safe to return.
  • Building Systems: All building systems, including air conditioning, will be turned off. If you have supplemental air conditioning units, please follow the guidance of your IT department regarding these systems.
  • Elevators: Elevators will be moved to higher floors and will be shut down until the building is reopened.
  • Parking Areas: The building parking areas cannot be used as storage for vehicles during a storm. Demetree Global is not responsible for any vehicles left onsite during severe weather.

After the Storm

  • Power Restoration: If power is lost, the building will remain closed until power is fully restored and all systems are safe to operate.
  • Return Notification: Please do not return to the building until notified by management that it is safe.

Communication

  • Report Storm Damage: If you become aware of severe weather conditions that could affect the building or notice any storm-related damage, please notify building management immediately.
  • Update Emergency Contacts: Ensure that your emergency contact information is up to date with building management, so we can reach you in case of emergency.
