Internship Spotlight: Anthony Nguyen

This fall, we had the privilege of welcoming Anthony Nguyen to the team as part of the Demetree Global Internship Program. Anthony, a Business Administration student at the University of Central Florida majoring in Management, is on track to graduate in May 2025. He joined Demetree Global eager to dive into the world of commercial real estate, focusing on market analysis, leasing, property management, and development.

During the Fall 2024 semester, Anthony immersed himself in various tasks across multiple departments, gaining invaluable hands-on experience. His primary focus was property management, where he played a key role in supporting day-to-day operations such as tenant communications, lease verification, and check processing. These contributions lightened the load for property managers, enabling them to focus on strategic priorities. One of Anthony’s more challenging yet rewarding assignments in property management involved capturing detailed interior photographs of tenant spaces at the recently acquired Hannibal Square.

Anthony also made a concerted effort to assist with marketing projects, which broadened his understanding of the field. Initially, he viewed marketing as merely advertising but quickly came to appreciate its strategic role in branding, storytelling, and aligning properties with prospective tenants. His projects included sending mailers to brokers, compiling tenant and partnership information, organizing signage in storage, and conducting 360-degree property photography, all of which contributed to Demetree Global’s marketing initiatives.

One of Anthony’s standout projects was leading a market research report on digital experiences in real estate. By analyzing competitors, identifying opportunities, and providing recommendations for innovation in PropTech, he gained insight into how AI and AR/VR technologies are reshaping real estate marketing and tenant engagement. This project marked a pivotal moment in his growth, showcasing his ability to tackle meaningful and complex challenges in a professional setting.

Reflecting on his time at Demetree Global, Anthony shared how the experience broadened his perspective on property management, marketing, and accounting. He gained a deeper understanding of the complexities of commercial leases and the strategic depth of branding. His exposure to accounting practices and tools like Yardi software helped bridge the gap between classroom theories and real-world applications.

Anthony also expressed heartfelt gratitude for the mentorship and guidance he received from the team, emphasizing their approachability and willingness to support his growth. When asked about his favorite memory from the fall semester, he fondly recalled attending a team-building bowling event at Aloma Bowl — a moment that highlighted the balance between working hard and enjoying some friendly competition outside of the office.

We are thrilled to announce that Anthony is returning for the Spring 2025 semester, building on the foundation he laid in the fall. When asked what motivated him to return, Anthony shared:

“There’s a lot of hands-on opportunities and guidance offered that make this internship a rewarding experience. I’m excited about being able to take on projects that could be both meaningful and complex and perhaps gain a better understanding of how strategic decisions are made and how they align with the organization’s long-term goals. I’m also eager to learn from other departments I haven’t had a chance to work with yet.”

As we start the second semester of his internship, we look forward to witnessing Anthony’s continued growth and contributions. His proactive attitude, adaptability, and dedication have made him an invaluable part of our team. With new challenges and opportunities ahead, we’re confident Anthony will further his skills over the next few months while playing a significant role in the success of Demetree Global.
