A Tasty Evening at Hannibal Square

The Demetree Global team wrapped up the workday a little early to embrace the crisp evening air and take in the flavors of the 3rd Annual Taste of Hannibal Square. This much-anticipated community event brought together eight incredible local restaurants, live entertainment, and fun activities — all in the heart of Winter Park’s Hannibal Square, a neighborhood we are proud to now call part of the Demetree family.

With plates in hand and appetites ready, we set off to explore the delicious offerings from our talented tenants and a few other fantastic vendors. While we couldn’t sample everything (though we certainly tried!), here’s a glimpse of the mouthwatering dishes we tried:

Jam Hot Chicken was our first stop and quickly became a team favorite with its perfectly crispy tenders. Their "mild" option, served with pickles, came with a cheeky warning — and a flavorful kick! Later in the evening, we managed to snag a helping of their creamy mac and cheese, which was well worth circling back for.

Pepe’s Cantina brought the fiesta to the square with two savory birria tacos topped with all the classic fixings, alongside fresh chips and guacamole that paired perfectly.

At Cafe Boutique Piano, the options were endless: grilled shrimp with a spicy pineapple reduction, creamy New Zealand mussels, a smoked salmon avocado salad, or smoked chicken with peperonata. The cherry on top? A complimentary glass of wine to round out the meal.

Across the street at Chez Vincent, we were treated to the evening’s most generous portions. Their spread included a salmon salad, a cheesy “burger” slider (more like a meatball slider), vegetable penne pasta, and tender pork pieces served with a tangy Dijon sauce.

We also stopped by Vinia for their rich and satisfying lasagna, which was the perfect comfort food for the cool evening.

For our final stop, we grabbed a to-go empanada and a cup of coffee from CFS. With so many tempting empanada options, it was tough to choose, but we weren’t disappointed!

Beyond the delicious food, the event was packed with activities and entertainment. Live music from The Smoking Jackets filled the streets, creating a festive atmosphere, while a 360 Photo Booth and caricature artist offered fun keepsakes. For those looking to sip and savor, The Palmano Group mixed up margaritas, old-fashioneds, and a seasonal mule, while Irvin & Irvin catered to craft beer lovers with two options from Ravenous Pig – a lager and Foxtail coffee blonde.

From the tasty dishes to the lively activities, the Taste of Hannibal Square delivered a memorable night. As a team, we laughed, shared plates, and soaked in the spirit of this special neighborhood we’re so proud to be part of.
